"From the Leeds Family Bible" LHK was born in Washington DC on Sunday, February 9th, 1851, during the session of Thirty-First Congress, in which her Father, John Bozman Kerr, represented the counties of Talbot, Somerset and Worcester (the then, 6th District).

On October 14th,1874, LHK married George A. Armes, Captain, 10th Calvary, United States Army. The wedding took place at JBK's home.
